As one of NEC's global standardization teams, the Wireless Communications Research team is dedicated to cutting-edge research in wireless technologies and exporting the research results to international standards. The research focuses on the improvement of wireless communication standards and the introduction of new features, and concentrates on the research of network requirements and enabling technologies for the next 10 years. These research results are providing the necessary support for NEC's wireless product solutions.

The Wireless Communications Research team holds several 3GPP standards essential patents (SEP) and has had multiple proposals accepted by standardization organizations and written into international standards. In recent years, it has received several awards from corporate headquarters.
